2. Description:

PaceMate was originally created to help my wife train for a marathon a couple of years ago. It was designed to allow her to quickly enter her running times and distances. PaceMate would then calculate her pace and projected marathon times. She could then save these entries to a log so that she could track her progress, and also get a visual representation of her progress through a graph.

PaceMate is broken up into two three functional screens: PaceMate, Edit Log, and Graph Log. The first main screen, PaceMate, can be run as a simple pace, distance, and time calculator independantly of the other screens; so if you are not intereted in logging and graphing your runs, you can do so quickly and easily without dealing with the extra functionality. But if you do want to save your runs and graph them, PaceMate is designed to let you do so quickly and easily. Hopefully this design is intuitive, and you will have no real need to read this help documention!

I hope you enjoy this little application as much as I enjoyed writing it!

3. Installation:

1. Double-click on the PaceMate_Installer.exe

2. And then just follow the prompts. Its that easy!

4. Using PaceMate:

You can use Pacemate as either a quick pace, distance, and time calculator or as a means to record and graph your runs.

- To use Pacemate as a quick pace calculator, simply enter 2 of the 3 variables: Distance, Time, or Pace. Click Calculate and the 3rd variable will be calculated.

- If you don't see an Estimated Distance in the list that you want to use, you can create your own distance by selecting the "Create/Delete" option from the list. More information on using this feature is in the next section: User-Defined Distance.

- To use Pacemate to record your runs and allow you to view your previous runs in a graph, you must Save your data. In order to Save your data, you must enter your pace, distance, or time, and then click Calculate. Once you click Calculate, the Save button becomes available to you. Saved data can be graphed and is explained in section 7: Graph Log.

- Optionally, you can also get an estimate of your running time for an Estimated Distance. For instance, say you ran 2 miles in 23 minutes (an 11:30 pace), you could see how long it would take you to run a marathon at the same pace (5:01:18).

- The Reset button allows you to clear all the current data, returning all values back to 0, and the date back to the current date.

- The Exit button allows you to quit Pacemate.

- The Help button will let you see either this help documention or information on the Pacemate program itself (what version number, etc).
